What BeatFractal adds

• Tested first. Every preset was run in a browser; ones that break or strobe harshly are left out, and the few that still flash are marked so you can hide them.
• Credited. Each preset carries its author’s name where it is known.
• Your own presets. Import… opens .milk files and Butterchurn .json files.
• From play to video. Line presets up and render an MP4 for YouTube, Shorts, Reels or Spotify Canvas.

   Start with Cream of the Crop, or go through a collection from top to bottom.

2. Add your music

   Open a song, press Mic to listen to the room, or play the demo beat.

3. Keep or render

   Rate and hide presets as you go, then render the ones you keep into a video.

Questions

Is this the original MilkDrop?

No. MilkDrop was written by Ryan Geiss for Winamp. BeatFractal plays its presets with Butterchurn, a WebGL version, so most look as they always did and a few differ.

Do I need Winamp or a download?

No. It runs in a recent Chrome or Edge, or Safari 17 or later, on any device with WebGL 2.

Can I add my own .milk files?

Yes: Import… in the library adds .milk and Butterchurn .json presets.

Are the presets free?

Every preset is free to browse, play and render on every plan. Paid plans add 1080p and 4K without the mark.
