Make a Spotify Canvas from your song.
Pick a visual, watch it react to your track, and render the vertical loop that plays behind your song on Spotify: 8 seconds, 9:16, with the end flowing back into the start. Your song is decoded in your browser and never uploaded.
Make a Canvas BeatFractal is in private preview: accounts are by invitation for now. Ask for an invitation.
No AI-generated visuals: every effect is a hand-crafted preset made by the MilkDrop community over the last 20+ years.
What the Canvas setting does
In the render dialog, choose Spotify Canvas under Made for and the studio sets up the rest.
- 8 seconds, 9:16, silent. The shape and the length are set for you, and the audio is left out of the file: Spotify plays your song under it.
- A seamless loop. Seamless loop is on from the start, so the last moments blend into the first and the clip repeats without a jump.
- The part you choose. The 8 seconds start where you are in the song. Or press Find the best moment for three suggested stretches.
- A length that fits. The studio will not start a Canvas render shorter than 3 seconds or longer than 8.
- 1080p at most. A Canvas never needs 4K, so 4K switches to 1080p.
- Check before you upload. Spotify sets its own rules for Canvas files; see Spotify for Artists for the current ones.
From track to Canvas
Open the track
The MP3, WAV, FLAC or M4A you are releasing. It plays in the studio straight from your device.
Choose a visual
Browse by mood and watch each one move to your music. Bold colour and slow motion read best at phone size.
Render the loop
Open Render video, keep Spotify Canvas, and save the MP4. Then add it to the track in Spotify for Artists.
Questions
- Why is there no sound in the file?
- A Canvas plays over your song on Spotify, so it does not carry audio of its own. For a clip with sound, choose Shorts / Reels instead.
- Can I pick which 8 seconds?
- Yes. Play to the moment you want before you open Render video, type a start and end, or let Find the best moment suggest three: it looks for loud, bassy, busy music and colourful, moving visuals.
- Is a free render good enough for a Canvas?
- Use a free render to preview the loop. Its small BeatFractal.com mark is a web address, and Spotify’s Canvas policy asks you not to direct listeners to websites. For the Canvas you upload, render with Single Video or Pro: 1080p, no mark.
- Can I put my cover art on it?
- Yes. Overlay… adds your album art, which can pulse with the bass, plus the artist and title. It is drawn into the loop.
