• Under a minute, unless the music is yours. Shorts can run up to 3 minutes, but past 60 seconds a Short with any copyright claim is blocked worldwide. The studio reminds you when a clip goes past a minute.
• Framing for vertical. Cut from a widescreen render, so presets look as designed, and set the zoom and pan; or let them draw straight into the tall frame.
• Your name on screen. Show the artist and title for the first 8 seconds or the whole clip, with your logo in a corner.

Questions

How long can a Short be?

Up to 3 minutes on YouTube. Past 60 seconds, a Short with any copyright claim, even a manual one, is blocked worldwide, so keep clips with music you don’t own under a minute. BeatFractal never hears your song, so it can’t check the rights for you.

Does it work for TikTok?

BeatFractal saves a standard vertical MP4 with sound, which you can post on TikTok as well. There is no TikTok-specific setting.

Can I cut clips from a DJ mix?

Yes. Open the tracks as a mix and Find the best moment suggests one stretch per track, so each song gets its own clip. If the music isn’t yours, keep each clip under a minute.

Can I make one on my phone?

Yes, in a recent Chrome or Edge, or Safari 17 or later. The studio tells you what your browser can do.

Does the clip carry a watermark?

Free renders are 480p with a small BeatFractal.com mark in a corner. Single Video and Pro renders have no mark.
